Your vehicle’s seat belt is one of its most important safety features, and the WeatherTech Pet Harness lets you buckle your pet just like you would yourself. The harness is easy to put on and, unlike a traditional leash and/or collar, keeps any pressure or stress generated from the movement of the vehicle off of your pet’s neck and onto its chest. The pet harness features a short tether that has two openings. Just pass your vehicle’s seat belt through one of these openings and click the buckles together. Use the opening closer to your pet if you want to limit the amount of movement your pet is allowed. The WeatherTech Pet Harness can also be used in the cargo area of your vehicle with a climbing grade locking carabiner.

In the event of an accident, a large unrestrained pet can exert upwards of 2,500 pounds of force to itself and the other occupants of the vehicle. The WeatherTech Pet Safety Harness’s unique patented design and heavy duty construction make it one of the strongest and safest pet travel harnesses available. The webbing material exceeds S.A.E. standards for human seat belts, and it has been independently tested to human seat belt safety standards. The WeatherTech Pet Safety Harness can also be used even if your pet isn’t in your vehicle. The same tether that keeps your pet safe during car rides can also be hooked to your pet’s leash for walks around the neighborhood or hiking down trails. Will this harness still protect my pet if it’s laying down?

Yes, the harness will keep your pet safe and secure whether it’s standing, sitting or laying down.

Can this harness be used with a WeatherTech Seat Protector?

Yes, however only the left and right seat belts will be fully accessible. The center seat belt will not be able to be used.

Is it okay for my dog to wear the harness all the time?

The WeatherTech Pet Safety Harness is certainly comfortable enough to be worn for extended periods of time. However, to avoid chewing damage and for safety reasons, it’s recommended that you remove the harness if leaving your dog unattended.

WeatherTech Direct, LLC warrants that our products will be free from any defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser and only for the original vehicle they were installed in. That does not mean that a product that simply and naturally wears out from normal use is a candidate for a warranty replacement or a refund. Like tires, brake pads or the shoes on your feet, everything wears out and when it does, that does not mean you did not receive good value for your money.

We are reasonable people and we believe in true customer satisfaction. We will work with you for a fair resolution to any issue you may have. Fair is defined as being fair to both you the customer and to WeatherTech. We do not charge extra for our products to our vast majority of customers so we can accommodate ridiculous warranty claims by the few. Our decision is final and will consist of either replacement of your product at no charge or charge you a prorated amount for a replacement, meaning we may extend a discount to you to purchase an exact replacement. Our goal is to keep our customers happy for a lifetime and always reach a fair resolution to any issue. Proof of purchase is required.

Exclusions to this warranty include wear due to severe abrasive conditions, chemical contamination, such as spilled gasoline, bleach, vehicle accidents, misuse, abuse, incorrect installation, incorrect use, etc.
