I wondered if you can please assist me with something. I came upon your article about the dc motor speed control. I am trying to do the same but what i want to achieve is when the push button is pressed the motor must turn clockwise but at a speed of 1000 rpm and when the other push button is pressed the motor must turn counter clockwise but at a speed of 1500 rpm. I would just like to know how would i control the speed of the motor ?

You need to calibrate the value of duty cycle with RPM, there is no other way.
